You've Never Heard Simon And Garfunkel's 'Bookends'?! : All Songs Considered Blog : NPR: "And that's what I've come to discover that I love about Simon & Garfunkel — they are absolute masters of emotive, transformative lyricism. In fact, it kind of scared me how much of an impact the first seven tracks of Bookends had on my psyche. If I had been listening to it on vinyl, I don't think I would have been able to muster the wherewithal to cross the room and flip over the record. But luckily, the album kept rolling and the upbeat tone of "Fakin' It" and silly lightheartedness of "Punky's Dilemma" almost immediately lifted my spirits. Whether I was dancing along or on the brink of tears, I loved the fact that Bookends engaged me emotionally from start to finish."

I'm not sure about the upbeat tone of 'Fakin' It', which I recall as being somewhat bitter, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for this album. I had it on a cassette in my '78 Volvo in high school, and listened to it so often that the words wore off from the case. Definitely one that anyone who's not familiar with it should check out.
