Singing for flood relief | press-citizen.com | Iowa City Press Citizen: "Josh Sazon has a number of friends who lost everything in the 2008 floods.

To help them and others, he has organized an Iowa City Community Theatre musical revue benefit of Richard Rodgers' songs.

'When you actually know people who have been affected, it is an added impetus to do what you can,' Sazon said.

The benefit takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday at the hotelVetro Penthouse, 201 S. Linn St.

Tickets are $25.

Pianist Richard Bloesch will peform as well as vocalists Megan Sands, Lexi Schiano, Joe Mosher and Ken Van Egdon and bassist Jon Cryer.

Sazon chose to highlight Rodgers music because the lyricist wrote the music for 'The King and I,' which the theater company wil perform Sept. 12 to Sept. 14 at The Englert Theatre."
